Practice Development

To be a successful practice in today’s NHS a practice needs a range of skills, competences and knowledge within a number of areas.
These include:

  • legal / statutory requirements
  • data analysis / IT
  • people management skills
  • financial management skills
  • procurement  / business rules
  • estate management

The LMC works closely with practice managers to identify and address practice development needs. In this way we aim to support practices in gaining the optimum performance from the practice team, both collectively and individually. Often practices will feel that they could work better but can’t identify how it should be achieved. A service will be offered that includes a “practice diagnostics” which will often run alongside facilitated time out sessions to improve team cohesion, sense of purpose and shared goals.

Time out sessions can also be used to resolve longstanding problems that have never been fully addressed.
