Overview: We are seeking a highly organised Care Navigator/Medical Receptionist to join our dedicated, busy and friendly team. 

As the first point of contact for patients, the Care Navigators play a crucial role in providing excellent service for our patients. This is a very busy role and duties include front desk, receptionist, administrative and telephone duties. If you have strong administrative skills and a passion for helping others, we would like to hear from you. 

Role: 

• Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere 

• Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar 

• Verify patient information and update records as necessary 

• Answer phone calls and respond to enquiries in a professional and timely manner 

• Processing requests for repeat medication 

• Scanning and attaching patient documents to clinical records 

• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the reception area 

• Collaborate with healthcare providers and other staff members to ensure efficient workflow 

• Undertake general administrative duties 

Skills: 

• Reliable, discreet, compassionate, caring and want to help make a difference 

• Strong administrative and computer skills 

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written 

• Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively 

• Ability to work well under pressure 

• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry 

• Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred 

Essential Qualities: 

• Experience working within a health care setting 

• Fully conversant with and confident using the EMIS software system 

• Experience of working in a customer facing role 

• Good computer skills and competent in the use of Microsoft Office and Outlook 

• Clear and polite telephone manner 

• Able to work under pressure 

• Reliable, polite and approachable 

• Previous experience working within the primary care environment 

• Flexible approach to cover for annual leave and sickness

• Disclosure and Barring (DBS) check will be done at the point of job offer 

• Job Type: Part Time/Full-Time 

• Salary: £11.40 to £12.00 

• Expected Hours: 32 to 37.5hrs Mon-Fri
