The four LMCs in the consortium have a wide network of relationships with other local NHS bodies, including CCGs, Area Teams of NHS England and Acute and community health service providers. We use these networks to represent the views of the GP body in decision making about service provision, particularly when it is likely to impact on GP workload or services within the practice. Specifically we negotiate collectively on behalf of GPs with the Area Teams, CCGs and Local Authorities regarding income streams for practices to perform additional services.

We have an important role in feeding up to national level the views of GPs in Lancashire and Cumbria and this section explains how this works. Also we have links with local MPs to keep them abreast of issues affecting general practice in their constituencies.
